Sugar dating is built on trust. That is why safety is not a single feature here but part of the whole platform: from the moment a profile is created until the two of you decide to meet. Here is what we do, and what you can do yourself. Sugarfar does not conduct criminal background screenings of its members, so the habits below matter.
Members can confirm their photo with a live selfie, or their identity with an ID check, to show there is a real person behind the profile.
A badge on the profile shows who has completed a check, so you can see at a glance who has confirmed their photo or their ID.
Every image is checked when it is uploaded, and images that break our rules are not shown.
Profile texts are checked, and our systems watch for known scam patterns so we can act fast when something looks wrong.
You can block anyone you do not want to talk to and report profiles straight from the chat or the profile. Every report is handled by our team.
Your private photos are protected and only shown to the members you have personally given access.
Profiles on Sugarfar are off limits to search engines, so your profile cannot be found through Google. Your full profile is only shown to logged-in members.
Never include your last name, email address, home address, phone number, place of work or any other identifying information in your profile or first messages. Keep the conversation on Sugarfar until you feel comfortable. Stop communicating with anyone who pressures you for personal or financial information or tries in any way to trick you into revealing it.
There is no substitute for acting with caution when communicating with any stranger who wants to meet you. Anyone who is able to commit identity theft can also falsify a dating profile, so a short video call before the first date is a good way to confirm the person is who they say they are.
Meet in a public place with many people around, such as a café or restaurant. Never agree to be picked up at your home, and always provide your own transportation to and from your date.
If you choose to meet another member face to face, always tell someone in your family or a friend where you are going, who you are meeting and when you will return.
Never send money, gift cards or cryptocurrency to someone you have not met. Requests like this are a common sign of a romance scam. If anyone asks, report the profile straight away.
Our support team is here to help. If you are unsure about a profile or a message, write to us once too often rather than once too little. In the US, free and confidential help is available day and night from the National Domestic Violence Hotline at 1-800-799-7233 and, for sexual harassment or assault, from RAINN at 1-800-656-4673. In an emergency, call 911.
