Seeking or Sugarfar?

In short: Seeking.com began life as SeekingArrangement, but it no longer allows sugar dating. Its homepage says that sugar dating and all forms of transactional relationships are strictly prohibited. Sugarfar is a sugar dating site with clear rules: two adults who choose each other, generosity that is given freely, and never payment for company, time or intimacy. Both sites are free to join and both sell a subscription. Below you will find the differences side by side, with a link to every source. Everything was checked on 23 October 2026.

This comparison is written by Sugarfar, so we only include facts you can check for yourself on both sites' own pages and in one press release, and we link to each source. We have deliberately left out reviews, member numbers and claims about being "the biggest site".

Sugar dating on Seeking today

Seeking's own pages are clear about the change. The site was launched as SeekingArrangement in 2006. According to its FAQ, it moved to the Seeking.com domain in 2019 and completed its shift away from "sugar" in 2022, the year its press release announced the move to "Dating-Up". Today its community guidelines ban references to sugar dating, including the terms sugar daddies, sugar mamas and sugar babies, and the site describes itself as a luxury dating site.

So if you are looking for sugar dating, with honest expectations discussed openly between two adults, Seeking is no longer built for it. That is a choice Seeking has made, and it is worth knowing before you sign up.

How messaging and payment work

Seeking: Joining is free, and free members can create a profile and browse. To send messages, its How it Works page says you need to upgrade to Platinum or Diamond. Plans run for 30 or 90 days, and 90-day plans are billed in full at the time of purchase. Under the terms for UK and EU members, a subscription carries on automatically for another period of the same length until you cancel it in your account settings.

Sugarfar: Sugar Babies and Sugar Boys always chat for free. Sugar Daddies and Sugar Mamas use Premium to read and send messages without limits and to see who has visited their profile. Premium renews automatically until you switch it off under Profile → My Account → Manage Premium. Do that at least 2 hours before your period ends and you keep Premium until the end of the time you have paid for. There is no minimum term. On Sugarfar you see your exact price once you have created a free profile, before you buy anything.

Verification and privacy

Seeking: According to its How it Works page, new members unlock their profile with a Selfie Liveness Check. ID verification is optional, and background checks are only offered to members in the United States.

Sugarfar: Two badges show what has been checked. "Profile photo verified" means the profile photo matches a live selfie. "ID verified" means an identity document has been checked. Profiles on Sugarfar are hidden from search engines, and your full profile is only visible to signed-in members. Private photos are only seen by the members you give access to.

Badges help, but they do not replace your own judgement. A short video call before a first date is a good idea wherever you met. Our guide to safe sugar dating in the UK and the seven red flags of sugar dating scams go into more detail.

Who Sugarfar suits

Sugarfar is a good fit if these points matter to you:

  • Sugar dating is what the site is for. Sugarfar is built for two adults who choose each other, with generosity that is given freely.
  • Clear rules on who needs Premium. Sugar Babies and Sugar Boys always chat for free, and Premium is for Sugar Daddies and Sugar Mamas.
  • Discretion. Profiles are hidden from search engines, and private photos are only shared with the members you choose.
  • Two badges that show what has been checked. Whether the profile photo matches a live selfie, and whether an identity document has been checked.
  • Flexible cancelling. You can switch off renewal up to 2 hours before your period ends.

How to check any sugar dating site yourself

Whichever site you choose, check the same things before you upload a photo: who runs the site, how verification works, how you cancel and who can see your profile. Our guide to choosing a safe sugar daddy website walks you through it, and it works just as well for Sugarfar.
